AALBC.com to Offer Self Published and Small Press Books Direct to Consumers at Competitive Discounts

The African American Literature Book Club (AALBC.com) to Offer Self Published and Small Press Books Direct to Consumers at Competitive Discounts

The AALBC.com will start selling self published books and small press titles direct to visitors of its web site at discounts ranging from 20% - 40% off list price. The AALBC.com receives an average of 250,000 – 300,000 unique visitors per month. The new direct to consumer program will start in early November.

(PRWEB) November 1, 2005 -- Up until recently, the AALBC offered book reviews, announcements, commentary and discussions relating to titles written by and for African Americans. The site maintained profitability by selling online advertising, and offering titles for sale as an affiliate of larger online booksellers such as Amazon and BN.com. But due to the explosive growth of urban fiction, and African American related titles, the AALBC will start purchasing titles from self published authors and small presses, then offer those titles for sale on the AALBC and affiliated sites.Order fulfillment will be provided by Writersandpoets.com, LLC, an independent publisher and book distributor based in New Jersey.

Good to hear. More and more writers will be taking the self-publishing route. After all, even if non-famous authors get a deal with a large publishing house, they must do their own marketing anyway. This announcement is a great business opportunity for AALBC.
